Rasa das & Visakha dasi

Each of us started our spiritual journeys in different parts of the world and at different times until one day we crossed paths (and got married!). Each of us had the same experience of searching for something in our lives that was ‘missing’. We knew there was something more to life than just working and living to survive, despite trying very hard to find happiness externally from the things and people in this world.

With some desire to seek out a spiritual solution to this problem, we were lucky it didn’t take too long for us both to stumble upon Kirtan classes. We discovered that happiness comes from within. It has been life changing in the best way possible.

Continuing on this spiritual path, we have both been practicing mantra meditation for decades and it has had a profound effect on our lives. It is our pleasure to share and pass on this wonderful process of meditation to anyone who would like to experience it.

We would love to meet you.

Namaste! A little about me.. I’ve been practicing and teaching yoga and meditation for over 10 years after coming into contact with this process of Bhakti Yoga seemingly by accident. I always had the sense that something about this world felt unatural to me, that it wasn’t where I belonged and sure enough, one day I walked into a meditation class where the instructor was explaining the truth about our identity and through the practice of mantra meditaiton and the study of science of identity I knew in my heart that this was what I was looking for. The absolute truth. We are not our body, or the identity we are labelled with by society, we are spirit souls in a temporary material body and we actually have a greater purpose than just wandering around trying to enjoy ourselves and raising families and making money! What a relief!

Altough I feel unqualified to do so, it brings me great happiness to share this practice with others, through meditation classes, in my work as a nurse and in the community helping people through the process of death and dying. We are so fortunate to have been given these great gifts of transcendental yoga sound and spiritual wisdom, and I feel so grateful to be able to share them with you.

When I was 16 my mum took me along to a hot yoga class. Being young it felt like a great form of exercise. However, it wasn't till I was 18 when I travelled to Australia for my Gap year, I found a more holistic yoga practice. With a curious mind and an open heart, I came across the practice of kirtan meditation.

The practice of yoga and meditation changed my life. I experienced a real 'light bulb' moment! A feeling of deep peace and happiness. From then on I dived deeper into the practiced of meditation and yoga.

I completed my 350hr yoga teacher training when I was 20 and have been teacher yoga and meditation since.

This ancient yoga practice is for everyone. I like to offer an all-round holistic yoga asana practice, will a strong focus on listening to your body and flowing with your breath. Mantra meditation is my favourite practice, so I love to share this in my class!

Hope to you meet you soon :)

Peace

My journey with yoga meditation began around 14 years ago when I attended a yoga class as a stressed out mum of two young children. I was hoping to find a little peace, relaxation and a moment to myself to help me adjust to the changes motherhood had brought to my life. It was at this yoga class that I was first introduced to kirtan meditation, the joyful group singing of ancient mantras and this was a major turning point in my life.

My exploration of kirtan meditation and other yoga meditation techniques has led me on a wonderful inner journey of self discovery that has literally changed my life, infusing it with deep meaning and purpose.

The spiritual insights, wisdom and inner strength gained through my meditation practices has helped me through some major life challenges, allowing me to approach them with a different perspective.

Kirtan has given me a clear foundation for life. It has altered my view of the world, of others and has given me a deep understanding of who I am, through direct perception and realization. I feel incredibly grateful to those who have given me this gift and helped me on my journey. Out of this gratitude, I am inspired to pass on to others the joy of kirtan meditation, a simple and joyful path to self realization that is practical and can be applied by anyone to improve their life.

Namaste, Sally
